Český Krumlov is a perfect example of a fairy tale town. Filled with castles, towers, gardens, rivers, and hundreds of cute shops, we had a great weekend!

Our choir headed to the town the day before, and I was going to meet up with them a day later so I could hang out with my dad! If you read my last blog post you saw that we went to Konipiste Castle to visit where my ancestors were from! Super amazing experience, and I was able to still see everything the choir did on the first day!

I boarded a bus around 6 AM to get to the city, and then rode the bus 3 hours to get to Český Krumlov! I felt super independent, and was able to walk from the bus stop to our hotel no problem!

Right when I got off the bus, I hopped on a second bus for our tour that day! We ended up going to an old medieval tower, which the cable cars leading up to were shut down. This meant one thing, we had to hike! I was wearing a white romper and sandals, but was so excited to move my legs after the busses that I sped up the mountain and actually got to the top first! I felt pretty cool about beating all of the boys!

GIRL POWER

An amazing view over the Czech countryside!

What I hiked in.... actually took off my sandals at one point because they got soaked in mud and hiked barefoot! Basically Katniss Everdeen

It started to downpour, so we ran into the restaurant at the top for lunch!

The amazing schnitzel brought out the sunshine so we hiked back down the hill! Went a different route so we were happy to pick up some hiking sticks!

Back on the bus, we headed over to Kratochvíle, a medieval manor built in the 1600s! In the 1700s, it was purchased by the Schwarzenbergs and they opened it up for the community's enjoyment! They wanted everyone to be able to enjoy the gardens and manor grounds!

We had so much fun running around the hedges and enjoying the gardens!

After running around outside, we got a tour of the inside of the residence!

The floor was one of the famous features of the residence!

Bear rugs

The Czechs sure do love to hunt, I can definitely see our family influenced by our heritage!

I always fall in love with the rooms with painted ceilings, always look up!

We drove back to Český Krumlov, and me and a few friends found a nice place for dinner on the water!

Pork with mixed dumplings in mushroom sauce! Posting this picture right now is making me hungry because it was AMAZING!!

Dessert was vanilla ice cream with homemade cream and hot Czech rasberry sauce!

The next day it ended up pouring for a majority of the day, but I managed to get a picture in front of Český Krumlov castle beforehand!

We headed off as a choir to one of the oldest monasteries in Český Krumlov, built in 14th century!

Best thing about this tour? We got to wear fun slippers inside!

We walked (slid on our slippers) through hallways with painted ceilings and huge glass windows!

The fanciest mirror selfie you will ever see

The worship space inside the monastery

The only thing that beat the slippers were these bookshelves! A bookworm's dream!

After our tour we went back to the town and did some souvenir shopping and exploring!

Music Shop piano stairs (future home inspiration)

Live music on the bridge

I've never met a record store I didn't like

We walked by the water and explored the beautiful gardens of Český Krumlov!

Springtime in the Czech Republic is marked by the tulips!

The gardens remind me of the Maribel gardens in Salzburg, Austria! (Where do, a dear was filmed!)

There is a rotating stage in the garden, the audience going between a stage and a forest, depending on the type of scene!

Český Krumlov actually has a Roman aqueduct! First one I've seen outside Italy!

For dinner that night, we went to see a Gypsy band! The trio played all types of Bohemian and Czech music

If you know anything about me, you know that we danced!

We spent our last morning in Český Krumlov climbing the castle tower!

Beautiful view of the fairytale town

We started our three hour bus ride back to Prague, and stopped to explore some underground tunnels in Tabor, Czech Republic!

We had to wear hard hats, and they looked great over our baseball caps..

Awesome time exploring the medieval tunnels! Used for transporting things underground, and criminals were actually kept in a certain section of the tunnel! Talk about dreary conditions..

This is a super long blog post, so thanks for hanging in there! Whenever we go on long weekend trips, it is really hard to condense everything! Still have some stuff to add to this post, but hope you enjoyed reading it in the meantime!
