Neck wallet - if there is cold weather, no one will be able to see it under your jacket anyways! I got one that is RFID blocking as well, and fits my passport
Cross-body purse - harder for people to take and run
Backpack with hidden zippers- if you are taking classes, or just taking the metro everyday, try to find a backpack that has hidden zippers! I got mine from amazon, and it is also waterproof and slash-proof!
Don't keep your wallet in your back pocket!!
Watch where you put your purse down at restaurants, you can always loop it under a leg of your chair for added safety!
Money belt- similar to neck wallet, very difficult for pickpockets to steal or even see!
Don't carry all of your important documents on you at once, that way if something happens, you won't lose everything! I got a separate debit card for food money, to help split up my cards!
Be smart- be aware of your surroundings, and know the reputation of the area you are in!
