Oh modern art.

Before we get into the giant baby situation before us, I would like to first explain how I found Kampa park.

It was a late Monday evening, and I was sitting in my travel writing class. Our professor used to work for National Geographic, and most of our class time consists of him telling stories and giving great travel recommendations. In the Czech Republic, you only have each class once a week for three hours, so even the most exciting class can feel long. We had been in about an hour at this point, when our professor turned to our class and asked, "Would any of you guys want to go to a pub right now?" We were stunned, and sat there in silence for a few seconds until some brave soul in the back corner mustered up a "hell yeah!" and we were on our way.

This is definitely something that would never happen in America. But on a rainy Monday in Prague, it seemed fitting.

Our professor led our class down the rainy side streets, until we came across Kampa Park. We walked by these creepy baby statues, shining in the moonlight, and I swore I would never again go back to this park at night. If a new "Night at The Museum" is ever filmed in Prague, I think these would be the villains of the movie.

We were led up to a hidden pub, and our professor spoke Czech to the staff. They immediately moved a bunch of chairs and different sized tables together, and we had our new make-shift classroom. Our teacher ordered everyone bread and cheese, and kids in our class ordered beers. It was quite a sight to see, and the eccentric murals inside the pub lit up the room.

The counters were filled with all sorts of knick-knacks. At this point, I just assumed nothing was going to make sense in this evening.

We talked about life, dreams, and traveling the world. He said he will be moving some of our other classes to local coffee shops, which I am looking forward to!

After my class got out, I met up with Megan, my old babysitter and best friend's older sister! She is a teacher and went with some friends to Europe on her New Jersey school break! Megan was in Prague for two days, so I made sure to send her lots of recommendations on what to do and places to eat! So happy I got to meet up with her and catch up and talk about her experiences there! We took a picture in front of the astronomical clock!

The next morning, I headed back to Kampa Park to see it in day light!

The park is right next to the water, and we had some beautiful views of Old Town!

We found a modern art park inside Museum Kampa, that you could walk around for free!

Always looking for those deep, hidden meanings behind each piece!

David Cerny's "Red Horse." He also has done lots of the modern art in my blog posts, including the famous "Piss Fountain" which can be seen in one of my first posts! Would like to see inside this man's head.

The baby statues by Cerny. These can also be seen in a miniature version crawling up the sides of the Prague TV tower at JZP!

The old grain mill in Kampa Park!

How people look walking to the Prague metro on a Monday morning.
