Imagine all the people, living for today

Aha-ah

So I would first like to start out by saying we didn't plan this day. If anything, we woke up with zero ideas of what we were going to be doing.

This just shows how incredible Prague is. Everyday, you can find about 20 new things to do or see, and they are all so different and rewarding.

However, we do have one consistent thing: the search for a good breakfast place! Due to all of the walking we have been doing, we always start the day with a big meal! Maggie recommended Café Louvre, and we went there for breakfast and coffee! (A major source of our daily energy!)

I had no idea how historical Café Louvre actually was! Named after the world’s famous gallery, Café Louvre has been open since 1902. That's crazy enough in itself, but what is even more impressive is its celebrity guest list! Among its guests were Karel Capek, Franz Kafka as well as Albert Einstein during his professorship in Prague. Because of this, we obviously had to have very deep breakfast conversations and try to solve the worlds problems. We probably only talked about puppies twice. Give or take. Maybe one day, when we are one of the greats, people will say that we ate at the restaurant!

In The Czech Republic, if you order cheese for your omelet, it actually comes out "on" your omelet, as you can see by the picture below!

There were notepads on the table to jot down important ideas, and my roommates and I wrote a little thank you note in Czech to the waitress!

Over breakfast, we did come up with one great idea: to see the John Lennon wall!

During the age of communism in Czechoslovakia, western pop songs were banned by Communist authorities. John Lennon was one artist whose songs were banned, because they praised freedom that didn’t exist. Some musicians could even go to jail for playing his music. Lennon was a huge hero to the pacifist youth of Czechoslovakia, and they dedicated a wall in Prague to paint messages of peace and anti authority on.a Officials would always paint over it, and went through drastic measures to erase the messages, but they weren't able to control all of the passionate people who put their messages on the wall every day!

Even visiting the wall today, there is spray paint for people to continue to put peaceful messages!

There was a man playing guitar and singing Beatles covers near the wall, and I definitely want to come back and record a video doing the same thing!

On the way back from the wall, we decided to swing by and see the "Dancing House" building in Prague! In a city surrounded by historical architecture, the building stands out because of its modern design, and the building does look like two people dancing!

Dancing House was constructed between 1992-1996 by Vlado Milunic and the American Frank Owen Gehry. They initially named it the "Fred and Ginger Building", after the legendary dance duo.

After we had walked around all day, we found an amazing restaurant near the Charles Bridge called "Jos Bar and Restaurant!" Definitely one of the best and cheapest finds we have found in a touristy area, if anyone you know is visiting anytime soon! I got a grilled chicken sandwich with an egg and bacon on it, something I had never seen before other than on burgers! Also, The Czech Republic serves you special mayonnaise on french fries. I thought it would taste weird, but decided to try it, and actually loved it!

I will end this blog with one of my favorite sections of lyrics from "Imagine," by John Lennon!

Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one
