The Czech Republic has such a rich history, and some of its biggest tourist attractions were created thousands of years ago! On day three, we decided to venture out of the direct city and see another side of Prague. We went to Vysehrad, translated to "Castle in the Heights." and the history there was incredible. This 10th century fortress is well known for the Basilica of St Peter and St Paul, as well as the Vyšehrad Cemetery.
The Basilica of St Peter and St Paul was definitely one of the most unique cathedrals I have ever been in. The doors were covered with mosaics, and the inside of the building was SO colorful, something I had never seen before other than in stained glass of churches.

Finding another reason to look up every day! Check out those ceiling and wall murals!

The cathedral and front entrance!

Manger scene! The cathedral was still decorated for the Christmas season, as you can see by the Christmas trees in the building!

The graveyard had some of the most incredible memorials I have ever seen, and included many influencial Czech people, Antonín Dvořák, Bedřich Smetana, Karel Čapek, and Alphonse Mucha to name a few! The grave markings were so intricate, and I would expect nothing less for such influential people of the Czech culture.

Vysehrad overlooks the whole city, and the views were incredible!

It was a freezing day, but I went with some of my favorite people, and we made sure to stop for hot chocolate afterwards!

Once we got back, there was no point in defrosting, because we all headed out to the Ice Pub in Prague! Everyone in our choir went, and we got special coats to keep us warm! Even the glasses we drank out of were made of ice! The Ice Pub is a spot every tourist has to hit when they come to Prague, so we took lots of pictures! Fun night with amazing people!

Corbin is still the only boy who has made it over so far (many people had problems with International Visas) and it is safe to say he is a very happy man!

A little roomie love and a fun "chill night in!"
