La Boheme Cafe / Church of St. Ludmila

After a crazy few first days, we had a lowkey girls afternoon, that turned into an adventure! Shannon, Britney and I looked online for an artsy coffee shop, and we found "La Boheme Cafe!" The cafe served all locally brewed Czech coffee, and was stunning inside!

I always judge good coffee by having good foam, and look at how beautiful it is! Britney and I got a cafe latte, and Shannon got a lemonade!

There were instruments and books hung from the ceiling. Such an amazing interior!

One thing that we are quickly learning about Czech culture is the necessity of reservations! Even just going to a coffee shop, we saw tons of tables reserved. Czech people make reservations for almost every meal, even if you are only going with one other person. We have had to make reservations 24 hours in advance for many of the restaurants we have gone to, especially around dinner time!

Near the coffee shop, we came across the Church of St. Ludmila! The church is located at Náměstí Míru, which means "Peace Square," in English! It is named in honor of the St. Ludmila of Bohemia. Antonín Dvořák actually composed his oratorio Svatá Ludmila based on St. Ludmila!

The church looked so beautiful lit up at night! It gets dark early here, around 4:30 in the winter. However, it lets us see everything in two different lights!

We found a traditional Czech restaurant for dinner, and I had pumpkin and bacon soup! It was AMAZING! There were pictures of famous Czech performers on the walls, since we were right around the corner from an opera house!

After dinner, we went out to an artsy bar with our group, and the interior was really cool! Fun day with great conversations and adventures!
